1955 Ghia Falcon The two-seat Chrysler Ghia Falcon sport roadster was one of the undisputed kings of that era with ideas of battling the Ford Thunderbird for sport-luxury supremacy. Built on a shortened Imperial chassis by Ghia’s Italian hammersmiths, it was designed in Chrysler’s advanced styling studio under the direction of Virgil Ex-ner. Its flawless execution is evident from every angle, and in many quarters, the car is considered to have the inestimable quality of fine art. An automotive feature of the ’50s was the fin, considered essential for styling, but also as an aerodynamic aid. The Falcon had subtly executed fins that incorporated full-length vertical bumper strips.
