Last summer, I attended a few Alberta Mini Roadracing Association (AMRA) race weekends with my son, Ashton, at Alberta’s Strathmore Motorsports Park. When I had initially reached out to the club for information about the series, they knew of my background with the California Superbike School, so they asked if I’d volunteer to help the youth riders on the Friday before race weekends. Seeing as I adore coaching and working with kids, I of course said yes. AMRA is a nonprofit association that fosters a safe, fun, and competitive environment for riders of all ages and experience levels. Recognizing the initial hurdles of entry into motorcycle racing, AMRA has implemented initiatives to make the sport more accessible.
