The company’s restructuring plan is approved, as is a four-year warranty

On February 20, five days ahead of the originally scheduled date, Pierer Mobility creditors voted on an accepted restructuring plan. This will allow the company some breathing room to move forward and thus avoid insolvency. It is the first time this procedure has actually been applied after being introduced under the Austrian Restructuring Act, which came into effect in July 2021. As a result of this vote, the repayment deadline of the agreed-upon debt has been extended. Pierer Mobility has until December 31, 2026, to repay just under 70 per cent of the debt, and until December 31, 2027 to repay the balance. This represents only 30 per cent of the total 2.38 billion euros ($3.6 billion CDN) owed to creditors. The reduced amount is the minimum allowable by Austrian law…
