October is the perfect month for settling down and preparing some cosy craft adventures before the winter sets in. At this time of year I usually choose a long-term project, such as a warming piece of knitwear, to last me through the wintertime. Starting a bit earlier in the year means I can usually finish it in time for it to still be useful! Last year, I made a simple garter stitch jumper in merino and silk mohair – lovely to work with – and it was perfect for knitting away the long winter evenings. I finished it in January and was able to wear it for a few months before the weather got warmer. I’ve got out of the habit of knitting regularly recently, so I’m going to stick…
