Atia warms up winter days with zingy colour and slows things down with larger craft projects she can enjoy piece by piece

The chilly days and long nights of winter are here again, and this year more than ever it feels like we need all the comfort of warm knits and soft cosy textures to get us through the cold spell. I have a collection of blankets made over the years, which all come out when the weather gets colder, covering sofas, beds and armchairs with a cheerful patchwork of colour. I enjoy working on patchwork projects over winter, as they come together slowly over a number of weeks or months and give a sense of purpose and progress to the season as well as being a useful and beautiful addition to our home.
