“Our workshops are a great way to try punch needle.” We’re Rachel and Siobhan – the sisters behind The Modern Crafter. We’ve been running our business together since 2017, starting at a maker’s market in Walthamstow, London. We now have a punch needle book published at the end of April 2022 and a shop and studio in Saffron Walden, Essex. It’s a brilliant place to come and have a browse. We also host workshops, which have been a great way for us to help beginners try out punch needle. The Modern Crafter began when Rachel was on maternity leave. She found there was a lack of fun modern punch needle designs to have a go at, so asked Siobhan, who’s an experienced textile designer, to design some patterns for her.…
