What is Jesmonite? Jesmonite is an eco-friendly, non-toxic composite material. It is made from a combination of chalky gypsum powder and liquid acrylic resin that, when it’s left to cure, turns hard and strong. It’s a water-based material that can be used for lots of crafts and is also sometimes used in manufacturing, and even on film sets. You pour it into a silicone mould to get the shape desired, and then it can be finished with different seals and waxes. What do you need to get started? Jesmonite is usually available to buy in a kit with the liquid and powder parts. You’ll also need containers to mix the parts together, wooden stirrers or lollipop sticks, your choice of silicone mould, any dye you’d like to use, and a wax sealant. It’s…
