Want a quick, easy way to pep up your home décor? Add a scattering of colourful pompoms to a blanket for an instant, on-trend update

MATERIALS ■ Yarn in bright rainbow colours ■ Small pompom maker ■ Scissors ■ Cotton throw ■ Pins ■ Needle and thread 1 Use the pompom maker to create lots of small pompoms from yarn in bright, rainbow colours. 2 Slightly flatten the pompoms, and trim any loose ends with scissors. 3 Lay the throw out on your work surface or bed, and smooth out any creases or folds. Position the pompoms in rows on the throw and use pins to hold them in place. 4 Using a needle and thread, neatly sew each pompom to the throw, removing the pins as you go.
