You can complete this process in exactly the same way using tacks instead of staples. To do this you’ll need an upholstery or narrow-headed hammer and 10mm fine tacks, instead of a staple gun 1 Push the seat pad up and out of the chair, and remove the old fabric. It will likely be stapled down or tacked down, and these can be removed with a staple remover or tack remover. A pair of pliers can be useful in case the staples snap. 2 Place the seat pad face-down onto the fabric.
