I remember my dad opening his new copy of Magical Mystery Tour, and sitting on his lap, listening to Strawberry Fields Forever and looking through the booklet. I began collecting records at eight and spent a big part of my childhood as an all-out Elton John fan. When I had just turned 13, my cool, older cousin turned me onto Todd Rundgren’s masterpiece Something/Anything?. And to this day it’s probably my all-time favourite album. I love how it leads off with a hit (I Saw The Light), how every song takes it to some other place, stylistically and thematically.
