The first ever album on Creed Taylor’s CTI label gets its first legitimate vinyl reissue since its 1970 release.

Kathy McCord Kathy McCord ACE. LP WITH A DAD who worked at television network NBC, a mum who was a member of the Ray Charles Singers and a brother, Billy Vera, who was staff writer at the publishing arm of CBS/Columbia, Kathy McCord was raised in showbiz. It was Vera who introduced the then 16-year-old Kathy to the songwriting partnership Chip Taylor and Al Gorgoni who needed someone to record Taylor’s new song, Angel Of The Morning. But after Gorgoni gave Angel to the duo’s other main recording artist, Evie Sands, Taylor wrote two other songs for McCord, the vaguely unnerving pastoral folk of I’ll Give My Heart To You and the hauntingly defiant I’ll Never Be Alone Again.
