It is the 1950’s and you can see those markets are diminishing. How can your firm survive? And rumour has it that a fellow director's wife has had trouble parking her Jaguar car. So the time has come to try something radically different. It's hard to believe that the Hunslet Engine Company of Leeds, noted for a range of steam and diesel locomotives sold throughout the world, once branched into making something as radically different as a bubble car.
