It seems this is no modern problem. Cats and humans have a long history together dating all the way back to ancient Egypt. We now know cats have been bothering humans for probably at least that long. Emir Filipovic, a doctoral student at University of Sarajevo, was doing research and came across an Italian manuscript from 1445. He was surprised to see something very interesting on it … a cat's paw prints — perfectly preserved in ink. (Say that three times fast!)
