For this month’s interview I had the pleasure of catching up with Bill Richards – areal old-school racer and gentleman. His Mini racing started in the 1970s and he has had many championship wins – probably his best was winning the 1981 Wendy Wools Championship. Bill is still racing as the Mini Spares works driver, as well as supporting their 8-port engine developments, and is a regular in the Fastest Mini in the World race. What was the first Mini you raced, and what was its specification and stand-out features? The first Mini was a Special Saloon Mini called Myrtle.
