■ Readers with good memories may recognise Jay’s Mini from a former Mini Magazine feature… and if you’re struggling to place it, this ’82 HL used to be white. When it appeared in our October 2020 issue, the car was in fact sporting a shade of Rover’s Diamond White along with a host of custom details. Well, as was the case with so many people, Covid changed a lot of things, and the lockdowns gave Jay a chance to fully reinvent the Mini inside and out; indeed, it’s been such a comprehensive makeover that we’re lining up another feature to show you how it’s evolved.
