The décor-laced interior is enough to start a conversation in itself, and as it’s only a stone’s throw from the May Day run route, the venue has proven popular with motorcyclists from across the country. But the café’s success didn’t happen overnight. Owner Caroline Sweby built the place from scratch, but was convinced it was jinxed when she broke down outside, and spent nights on a mattress in the bar as she completed renovations. But she persevered, and now the acre of land has two stages, a BBQ, sofas, car park…
