IBCC ride-in pays tribute to WW2 mercy mission

More than 500 bikers from across the UK are expected to roll into Lincoln’s international Bomber Command Centre (IBCC) next month for the annual InSpire Ride charity gathering. Taking place on Sunday, May 18, the event will commemorate the 80th anniversary of Operation Manna – a WW2 humanitarian mission that saw British and Canadian aircraft drop food supplies to starving civilians in the Nazi-occupied Netherlands. The April 1945 mission saved thousands of lives and will be remembered by the Linconshire venue with a day of thanks, running from 10am-4pm. “It’s an opportunity to mark your remembrance,” IBCC boss Nicky van der Drift told MCN ahead of last year’s event. “You only have to talk to those that are doing the tours up at the Spire learning about Bomber Command, and…
