Running over 12 stages plus the prologue, this year's Dakar will see riders cover close to 8000km with more than 5000km of timed Special Stages. Sunderland explains:
“We're all in for a big challenge because from day two we're into the 965km, 48-hour stage, which is going to be brutal; because you won't be in the rhythm of the race. In the past for example day three, day four I suffered a lot but then by day five you're in a rhythm and you're cracking on with it, but it's not going to be like that this year.
