DIG OUT THOSE STONES…

Although I say I've not done much in the workshop this month, I have put a new rear Bridgestone BT023 on my Honda Pan European. It wasn't completely worn out because it still had about 3mm left on the tread, but it had squared off and ruined the handling, making it horrible to ride. Also, when tyres square off like that it makes them more susceptible to picking up punctures – just getting little sharp stones bedded in can end up ruining your day. I'm always quite diligent at getting stones out of my tyres for that reason, I do it every time I wash my bike – just get it up on stands and spin the tyres and dig them out with a flat-blade screwdriver.
