I GREW UP WATCHING MY OLDER SIBLINGS hit balls every day—they took lessons, and I’d travel to tournaments with them. One day, I picked up a racquet and started hitting. I wanted to win just like they did. I was a pretty competitive kid, but I always saw tennis as a big game instead of a huge work commitment. I took lessons for years, and in 2020, I moved to Montreal to join the National Tennis Centre. We’ve worked with some of the best coaches there, some of whom trained pros like Bianca Andreescu.
