Sonnet Technologies’ Echo 5 Thunderbolt 4 Hub is smaller and cheaper than the older Echo 11 model. It’s palm-sized, so it won’t take up much room on your desk, and it comes supplied with a power supply and a Thunderbolt cable. Around the back you get three ports for Thunderbolt or USB-C devices, the power socket and a button to switch the device on and off. At the front is a Thunderbolt port for connecting to your computer (it’s ideally positioned if you’re setting up a desk environment on which to use your MacBook), a USB 3 port which carries 1.5v for charging mobile devices and a couple of LEDs for link and power.
