Philips The Xtra har et skarpt og detaljert bilde med livaktige farger, godt hjulpet av det stemningsfulle Ambilight-lyset. Brukergrensesnitt et Titan OS føles ennå litt uferdig. Lysstyrken er midt på treet, og den lokale dimmingen er ikke like presis som vi skulle ønske. Philips The Xtra er en relativt ung TV-modell i Philips-familien, og som navnet antyder er dette en attpåklatt som henvender seg til de kresne TV-entusiastene med spesielle krav og forventninger. De som har fulgt med på Philips sine TV-eskapader en stund vet at produsenten har hatt mye hell med sine high-end OLED-skjermer. De prisgunstige LCD-skjermene i The One-serien har også blitt godt mottatt i markedet. I dette tilfellet snakker vi derimot om en toppspekket LCD-TV.
