Bar 9 lydplanken leverer et massivt, stort og bredt lydbilde med fyldig bass, og en omsvøpende surroundeffekt som suger oss inn i handlingen. Kvaliteten koster, og ekstern subwoofer bare drar opp prisen ytterligere. Sony har tidligere imponert oss med store og kraftige lydplanker som HT-A7000, men i år har den japanske produsenten ønsket å heve lista et hakk. Toppmodellen Bravia Theatre Bar 9 er storebroren i den nye Theatre-familien, og med en pris på drøye 14.000 kroner befinner den seg i det tøffeste high-end sjiktet av lydplanker, i direkte konkurranse med modeller som Samsung HW-Q990 og Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar Plus.
