Jeg husker godt den første utgaven av Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin. En bordhøyttaler med et åpenbart gjenkjennelig design, men med uvanlig god lyd. For i 2007 fantes det ikke mange bordhøyttalere som leverte noe særlig god lyd. Plugget man en iPod i dokkingkontakten, fikk man strålende lyd, breddfull av varm klang, fyldig bass, og klokkeklar mellomtone. Man kan hevde at Zeppelin startet en trendsetter som siden ‘alle’ andre har kastet seg på. Med vekslende hell. De fleste av dem som prøvde, tapte, og forsvant. I dag er det få konkurrenter igjen i premium-segmentet, som Zeppelin definitivt tilhører. Hvis vi ser bort fra bærbare Bluetooth-høyttalere, er det stort sett Bang & Olufsen, Naim og Devialet som har seriøst god lyd i tilsvarende prisklasse. iPod-dokkingen på Zeppelin er for lengst historie, men…
