MATERIALS STRUCTURE Plain weave. EQUIPMENT Rigid-heddle loom, 8” weaving width; 15-dent heddle; 2 shuttles; pick-up stick 8/4 carpet warp for making string heddles, 6 yd; 10-12” heddle rod. Note: To weave the non-shibori scarf, you only need the loom, heddle, and 1 shuttle. YARNS Warp: Mallo (100% cotton; 1,500 yd/lb; Gist Yarn), Natural, 330 yd for each scarf. Weft: Mallo, Natural, 176 yd for each scarf. Shibori weft: 8/4 cotton carpet warp, 100% cotton (any color that will provide contrast but not bleed), about 100 yd. Note: Yardages are for one scarf.
