Add some pizzazz to your weaving with these simple weft-manipulation techniques. Use looped pile and Spanish lace to give your piece interesting texture, or try weft interlock to weave with multiple weft colors in a single pick.

DO IT BY HAND INTERLOCKING WEFT While interlocking weft might look like clasped weft, there is a key difference: with interlocking weft you don't end up with a double weft. For this technique, you might find it easier to use small shuttles or even yarn butterflies instead of larger stick shuttles. 1 Starting with Weft A at the left selvedge and Weft B on the right, weave the wefts toward each other so they meet somewhere in the middle of the warp.2 Gently pull each weft out of the warp through the same space. Wrap them around each other to clasp the wefts.3 Beat your weft into place and change sheds.4 Carefully insert Weft A and Weft B back into the shed. Weave Weft A back to the left selvedge…
