Le président n’est plus soutenu par une majorité, même relative, de députés. Il lui faut éviter le blocage des institutions, qui pourrait se retourner contre lui.

Le 7 juillet au soir, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, triomphant, et Marine Le Pen, dépitée, ont gardé, non pas le pouvoir de faire, mais le pouvoir de défaire. Lui a bénéficié à fond du front républicain, elle en a pâti au maximum. Un front républicain qui a très bien fonctionné, beaucoup plus qu’en 2022, y compris au profit de l’étiquette Ensemble ; un front républicain malgré Macron, qui a – il était temps – disparu après le premier tour.
