The proposed merger of Loughborough College and SMB College Group, which aims to further educational excellence across North Leicestershire, was first announced in July last year.
Its proponents said the plan "promises to transform the educational landscape by driving economic growth, enhancing skills development, and delivering substantial investments in student experience and cutting-edge learning facilities".
The consultation period encourages students from both colleges, parents, staff, employers and the local community to share their views.
