The Foxes eased their relegation worries with a 3-2 win over Brighton at the King Power Stadium to move six points clear of the drop zone.
City came flying out of the traps, scoring three before half-time.
Shannon O'Brien, Saori Takarada and Shana Chossenotte all got on the scoresheet, with Hannah Cain providing two of the assists.
But Brighton roared back in the second half with two late goals from Madison Haley and Fran Kirby to set up a nervy finish.
But City showed their character to dig in and see the match out.
Manager Miquel was extremely pleased with City's first half display in front of their home supporters.
"Like any win, we are really happy whenever it happens," she said.
"It was a long one to come today, even though it started very well, so we're happy that it ended well also.
"It was hard-earned but the players stuck together and fought for every ball.
"The goalkeeper (Janina Leitzig) was also helpful in the end and we are really happy with this result even though it was a hard finish.
"If yesterday you told me that it would be 3-0 at half-time, I wouldn't have believed it, but that's what is great about football.
"I think the players did well, played one of the best transition games I've seen so far and that's set up the rest of the games to come."

The goals came from all angles as the starting four up front more than played their part in the victory.
"We know we have a lot of potential up front," said Miquel, below.
"We've had challenges and not everyone available at the same time, but now we're getting more and more players back.
"It gives us more options and more competition between them.
"They need to perform to stay on that pitch and that's how we get the level up."
City are six points clear of the relegation zone with Tottenham Hotspur due to visit King Power Stadium on Sunday as Leicester look to make it four home wins on the bounce. "It's a big boost," said Miquel. "We still have to focus and not relax.
"We know there are five games left and we have to make sure that we continue performing to have as little stress as possible until the end of the season.
"We're obviously very happy with this [home wins] record...
