Investigations are ongoing after the car failed to stop at the scene in London Road a fortnight ago.
The collision happened just before 8.30pm on Monday, March 10 when the pedestrian was struck by a dark-coloured saloon car.
The man, who is in his 50s, required hospital treatment for what have been described as “serious injuries,” though he has since been discharged.
In an update yesterday, police said the vehicle failed to stop following the collision, which happened between London Road’s junctions with College Walk and Prebend Street.
Investigations to identify both the vehicle and driver are ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
