¿Podría hacerse cine con olor? Ya en 1916, cuando las películas no tenían aún sonido, se colocó una bola de algodón perfumado con aceite de rosas ante un ventilador en una sala de Pensilvannia (EE. UU.) durante la proyección de un reportaje sobre el estadio de fútbol americano 'Rose Wowl' (bol de rosas). Más tarde, en 1929, hubo un cine en Nueva York que creó un sistema para aromatizar desde el techo mientras se proyectaba 'The Broadway Melody' .Y así ha habido otros intentos.
