Quand, début juin, les premières invitations sont arrivées, certains ont froncé les sourcils : un show à 20 h 30 à La Courneuve, un samedi soir, en fin de Fashion Week, le 22 juin, peut engendrer une fin de non-recevoir – non par snobisme, mais par fatigue. Mais, bon, ce serait le dernier défilé annoncé de Dries Van Noten, il faudrait en être. Et puis, il y avait ceux qui se souvenaient d’une invitation toute pareille, il y a presque vingt ans, en octobre 2004. Elle avait suscité des appels stressés au service de presse : « Mais pourquoi si loin ? » Ceux qui travaillaient auprès du créateur savaient mais ne disaient rien. Car la surprise était de taille : pour son cinquantième défilé, Dries Van Noten avait dressé…
