C’est devenu assez rare pour être signalé, mais Lexus étend sa gamme vers le bas. La marque premium de Toyota a, en effet, identifié un potentiel de croissance sur le segment des SUV urbains, il est vrai progressivement déserté par celles qui y régnaient jusqu’à présent, Audi et Mini. Il faut dire que Lexus profite dans cette entreprise d’une forte synergie technique avec sa maison mère qui met à sa disposition la plateforme du Yaris Cross. Étirée pour l’occasion de 2 cm au niveau de l’empattement, et dotée d’un train avant élargi de 6 cm, elle contribue à doter le Lexus LBX de proportions avantageuses, le tout pour un encombrement restant suffisamment contenu (L x l x H : 4,19 x 1,825 x 1,560 m) pour garantir une bonne maniabilité…
