Les sièges du conseil municipal sont vides et la mairie reste fermée au public jusqu’à nouvel ordre, comme le précise une affichette à l’entrée. Aux élections municipales, en juin dernier, aucun candidat n’a osé se présenter. San Luca est donc administré par un fonctionnaire du ministère de l’Intérieur qui y passe moins de deux heures par semaine pour expédier les affaires courantes. Le village, qui compte moins de 5 000 habitants, est habitué à la vacance du pouvoir. Celle-ci s’était déjà installée entre 2013, date à laquelle le conseil avait été dissous pour infiltration mafieuse, et 2019. Des dizaines de municipalités en Italie sont ainsi concernées par ces mesures de protection après des tentatives…
