What three designed landscapes have most influenced your work?

The way it expresses ideas through movement, composition, and the phenomena of nature continues to intrigue and inspire me today. 2 THE MILLER GARDEN by Dan Kiley, Columbus, Indiana Ceaselessly referenced in my formative design school years, upon finally visiting, the Miller Garden was even more spatially clear yet dynamic, precise yet nuanced, and restrained yet playful than I could ever have imagined. 3 ENTSU-JI TEMPLE Kyoto, Japan (above) Not the most famous of Kyoto’s great gardens, but a quiet retreat where, as a young landscape architect, I could study what’s possible when architecture, garden, and landscape are made one.…
