Cuningham transforms a former car dealership into a unique high school environment.

CAMPUS When rain falls on Littleton, Colo-rado’s new ancillary high school, the landscape comes to life. Water cascades from the roof down a series of salvaged-steel runnels and into a rocklined basin and activates a “kinetic stormwater trench” that runs through the central plaza. The planted basins fill up, and a raised bridge safely conveys students back and forth. Funded through a $298 million bond for Littleton Public Schools passed in 2018, the education facility and its prominent, hydro-powered learning landscape is known as Explorative Pathways for Innovative Careers (EPIC).
