Last fall, the Cultural Landscape Foundation announced it had been gifted the digital archives of the photographer and landscape architect Alan Ward. The archives contain portfolios documenting dozens of iconic designed landscapes in Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States, among others. Ward hoped this gift would aid the foundation in its mission to protect the design heritage of these landscapes, but it also provides the opportunity to trace the significance of recurring themes in his work.
