It is my distinct honor to serve as the 80th ASLA President. I am grateful for the support of my family, mentors, business partners, and the nominating committee. I am constantly and consistently inspired by the members, volunteers, leadership, and colleagues at the Center of Landscape Architecture for their dedication to the ASLA mission. With a genuine sense of gratefulness, my spirit is energized to belong to such a remarkable community of people making the world a better place through landscape architecture. As we celebrate 125 years of accomplishments, we should take stock of the root principles the ASLA founders wanted to address—being stewards of the environment and recognizing the basic needs of people.
