What three designed landscapes have most influenced your work?

The layers of human history (aqueducts, arches, carriage roads, formal gardens) overtaken by the unkempt meadows and stands of umbrella pines were the perfect blend of mess and order for me. THE ACROPOLIS Various designers, Athens, Greece Most people focus on the Parthenon, but I’ve always loved the hill itself: a massive geologic formation full of springs, caves, and windswept vegetation. That architecture would lose its shirt without the contrast and grounded expanse of gnarly landscape that holds it up.
