SEEING BLINDS: ARCHITECTURE FOR AVIAN LANDSCAPES Kibel Gallery University of Maryland School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation College Park, Maryland Through January 17, 2025 Forty case studies of avian architecture explore the many ways that people watch and study birds, zooming in on bird blinds (small aviary viewing shelters) by landscape architects, architects, and artists. Professor and curator Michael Ezban, ASLA, encourages encounters between people and birds at a time of sharp decline in their global populations. The exhibition’s visual materials, suspended from above to evoke flocks in flight, are accompanied by sonographic recordings of bird calls.
