Merino-telers van die Wes-Kaap het vir die hoogste pryse gesorg op die 48ste produksieveiling van Heuningkrans-Merino’s van Eddie en Eduard Prinsloo. Die veiling is op 5 September op die Prinsloos se plaas, Heuningkrans, by Smithfield gehou. Die duurste stoetram (345-23-0552) is vir R30 000 gekoop deur Pieter Reynolds van die Langkloof-plase by Herold. Ander ramme wat stewige pryse behaal het, is verkoop aan die Lakenvleiboerdery by Ceres (R25 500), die Môreson-boerdery by Albertinia (R24 000 en R20 000) en die Karobo-onderneming op die plaas Doornkuil by Britstown in die Noord-Kaap (R20 000). Die gemiddelde prys vir die 62 ramme op die Heuningkransveiling was R9 483,87, met dragtige ooie wat vir gemiddeld R1 869,44 verkoop is, ooie vir gemiddeld R1 575,32 en ooilammers vir gemiddeld R1 393,33.
