There’s rare, and then there’s this

This is a real rarity, and one I didn’t know had ever existed. It’s a French-language version of the sales brochure for the 101 One Tonne, which is rare enough in the original English. To be strictly accurate, it’s a copy of the French brochure. Gérard Poulin of Land Rover France found an original and had a few copies made, and he kindly sent me one. Gérard says he had no idea that such a thing existed either – until he found the original. He can only assume there was a plan at some stage to offer the 101 to the French military. So far as I’m concerned, the most interesting finding is that this brochure is dated June 1973, whereas all the UK-market ones I’ve seen have been dated November 1974. If…
