• Make sure you’re warm and comfortable in your tent. If you’re not, the adventure will be a miserable experience you won’t want to repeat. Buy the best sleeping bag you can afford and take extra fleece blankets.
If you’re young you’ll probably be happy with a roll mat, but oldies like me need a comfortable air bed or stretcher-type camp bed in a ground tent. If you have a roof tent, make sure the mattress is sufficiently comfy – if necessary, get a memory foam topper to ensure a good night’s sleep.…
