Alpine has finally presented the top tier version of their Alpenglow model at the 2024 Paris Motor Show. Originally unveiled as a concept in 2022 to show off the potential of the hydrogen engines, the latest evolution features a hydrogen V6 powertrain that doubles down on the power of its HY4 four cylinder predecessor! Developed over two years, the 3.5 litre V6 produces 740 horsepower at 9,000 rpm. Its top speed is 338 km/h and the engine has been dropped and cased in blue-tinted glass - because Alpine is proud of their work! A centrifugal clutch and Xtrac sequential gearbox give much assist, while fuel is stored in gas form in three 2.1 kg high pressure hydrogen tanks mounted behind the cockpit.
