“This kitchen’s biggest strengths are its simplest decisions. To achieve a fresh and elegant mix of classic and contemporary styles, the design has been pared back to prioritise functionality, clarity and cleanliness. A Maximum Statuario pressedporcelain benchtop extends in all directions to flow up the splashback wall and down into the waterfall end. Its classic, marble-look veining is one of the standout features of the space, and its matt finish is subtly contrasted by a satin finish on the polyurethane cabinetry. Both surfaces, as well as the kickboards and surrounding walls, are white, establishing the kitchen’s clarity and, over the dark re-stained floorboards, setting up its principle, resounding contradistinction.
