A CULINARY CAREER The culinary career of Rose Totino (of the Totino’s pizza rolls) began as a teenager in a candy factory and ended as a functionary of a major corporation. Rosenella Winifred Cruciani was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1915 to Italian parents who had immigrated to the United States five years before. She grew up with six siblings, a sustenance garden, and the spirit to succeed. At sixteen, Rose dropped out of school in order to work at a candy factory with the goal of being able to afford more than one orange a year. Rose met Jim Totino at a dance hall and the couple married in 1934.…
