When one of the shortest days in the southern hemisphere provided ample rainfall, the local Okere Falls crew knew there would be more than ample flow in the Kaimai Ranges! 11 Okere Locals (Dylan MF Thompson, Rob Collister, Cole O’Connor Stratton, Sam Ricketts, Mitch Lamb, Jesper Sørenson, Michel Uhl, Rhys Elliot, Issac Schanzer, Machu & Jure Stan) rallied to the Waimapu River, to put on what is considered one of the best creeking runs in the North Island and tick off what would be the highest descent of the river to date. A number of the boys had paddled the run multiple times, while it was the first time down for others.
