A year in need of thrills prompted Éric Deguil to launch a new challenge: to hurtle down 600 meters of height difference on a class V river in less than an hour. Located in the Pyrenees, the Cauterets River provided the perfect conditions for this record, even though it normally takes two to three hours to complete. It would be a big challenge, but Éric Deguil is no rookie, "Mr. Pink Helmet" has already inscribed his name in the history of the discipline by winning the extreme kayak world championships four times.
