For COVID and commitment reasons, the BV Pro Rodeo was canceled during the Paddlefest, but fearing another long summer at home, plenty of paddlers came to BV anyway to surf the amazing features and enjoy the town and the ''Colorado Tour'' vibe they look forward to every winter. Somewhere amid the social camping and surfing and comradery, a few of the younger paddlers started emailing, saying that they wanted to have the rodeo anyway. The "old guard'' athletes who usually run the event, judge, and announce all agreed. "Sounds GREAT—you do it!''.
