Kayak Session is proud to collaborate with American Whitewater, a non-profit river conservation organization. Our mission is to show kayaking at its best with amazing pictures of paddling on beautiful rivers. Without the hard work and dedication of AW, we would have a difficult time portraying these incredible rivers, and it would probably become even more difficult in the years to come. We would like to acknowledge this work and AW has agreed to keep us updated on some of the projects they are involved in. Paddlers own a stunning 43% of whitewater runs in the United States. We are rich! These streams are some of the cleanest, wildest, and most scenic in the country. Of course, these are the streams that flow through federal public lands, which belong to all Americans. At least for now… We can thank the most hardcore outdoorsman ever to become President of the United States for our public lands. Just as the railroads and the rich were about to devour the last wild spaces in the West, Teddy Roosevelt created the Forest Service and set aside roughly 230,000,000 acres of public land between 1901 and 1908.
